It would be good to allow the user decide if he wants the contacts icons to be displayed in the micro-blogging dialog. Also, the current representation with the text in white over a red background, and the "arrow" on the left, is nice for small texts... but for later when we can really do some blogging, with many paragraphs, embedded pictures, why not table of contents... I don't know if it would fit. One possibility would be to keep the display as it is when icons are showed, and adopt a more classic display when icons are hidden (white background and use all the width for the text)... so the option would be more "Toggle chat display" than "Toggle icon display". This is to be discussed, ask more people...
